This is Demonangel (now known as Shiftingbell on Burning Legion) and his many druid forms in World of Warcraft.
Honestly, this particular piece probably remains one of the most complicated drawings I’ve done to date. It’s mostly because of the details required for all of the individual animal forms (not just the main character). It needed balance to ensure character highlight but also to keep clutter down. All within the dimensions of a 8.5×11” sheet of paper.
I sketched everything out with pencil first, then outlined with Staedtler fineliners. Finally I added layers of color with colored pencil.
